JSC “ADMIRALTY SHIPYARDS” COMPLETED FACTORY SEA TRIALS OF SUBMARINE “MAGADAN”

JSC “Admiralty Shipyards” (is included in the group of United Shipbuilding Corporation) completed factory sea trials of large diesel-electric submarine “Magadan” of project 636.3.

The sea section of factory sea trials was conducted in two stages in the ranges of Baltic fleet. In short-haul ranges were carried out reballasting and stability tasks and taken measurements of sound level and magnetic fields of the submarine. During operation in long–haul ranges were conducted speed, maneuverability and deep-diving trials of the submarine. The specialists of the enterprise tested the sonar system, the radar and communication systems, the machinery plant and damage control systems of the submarine.

Submarine “Magadan” successfully carried out the planned dives, including deep diving. All systems and machineries of the submarine operated in standard operating conditions in compliance with designed performance characteristics.

The submarine returned to the enterprise on 16 July on the eve of the Navy Day, after that started shore part of the trials, including signing of required documentation and closing of factory sea certificates.

“Magadan” is third submarine of the series for Pacific Fleet, it was launched on 26 March of current year with high degree of readiness (91 %). The submarine was laid down on 1 November of 2019 and in November of 2021 it shall be handed over to the composition of the Russian Navy.
