JSC «ADMIRALTY SHIPYARDS» CELEBRATED 112-TH ANNIVERSARY AFTER FOUNDATION DAY OF SUBMARINE FLEET OF RUSSIA AND 60-TH ANNIVERSARY AFTER BEGINNING OF CONSTRUCTION OF DOMESTIC NUCLEAR –POWERED SUBMARINE FLEET

Today, on Submariner’s Day at JSC «Admiralty Shipyards» took place a special event devoted to 112–th anniversary after foundation day of submarines forces of Russia.

In the morning the veterans –submarines and the enterprise’s employees laid floral tributes at memorial sign «100-th anniversary of submarine forces of Russia» on Rizskiy prospect. The composition basis of the memorial sign, erected 10 years ago at the initiative of the shipyard near the south front gate of the enterprise, forms a model of nuclear submarine of project 671 RТМ, which used to be built by Admiralty Shipyards.

This very day the delegation of the shipyard participated in the celebration of Submariner’s Day in Sestroretsk.

The representatives of JSC «Admiraty Shipyards» took part in solemn service in the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul and at the meeting devoted to 112 –th anniversary of foundation of Russian submarine fleet, laid floral tributes to the «Memory wall». Namely in Sestroretsk in 1724 was tested a «secret vessel» by Efim Nikonov – the prototype of first submarine in the world, built at Admiralty Shipyards by the decree of Peter the First.

– 2018 is a jubilee year in the history of construction of submarines – in July will be turned 60 years after beginning of foundation of nuclear-powered submarine fleet of Russia, – made a comment in respect of the professional holiday the general director of JSC «Admiralty Shipyards» Alexander Buzakov. – And this class of the submarines also includes the worthy contribution of our Admiralty Shipyards. During the period from 1967 to 1995 years the production workers built 41 nuclear-powered submarines.

For the moment, the enterprise constructed over 300 submarines and 70 deep-diving submersibles, many of them are unrivalled in Russian and world shipbuilding.

Among them a legendary nuclear –powered submarine «Alfa» of project 705, the nuclear deep-diving power plants, the submarines «Piranha», the deep-diving submersibles «Rus» and «Consul» with submerged depth up to 6000 meters, the vessel for rescue of submarines «Igor Belousov» with deep-diving submersible «Bester -1» onboard.

In 2016 the shipyard completed construction of the series of six submarines for Black Sea Fleet of Russia, currently the enterprise is constructing the series of six submarines for Pacific Fleet and also three series of the submarines, including two submarines of fourth generation «Lada».
