LARGE FISHING FREEZER TRAWLER "KAPITAN VDOVICHENKO" BUILT AT JSC "ADMIRALTY SHIPYARDS" COMMENCED FISHING SEA TRIALS

Large fishing freezer trawler "Kapitan Vdovichenko" built at JSC "Admiralty Shipyards" reached its fishing ground – the area of the Northern Kuril Islands.

A month ago, on September 21, large fishing freezer trawler "Kapitan Vdovichenko" left Saint-Petersburg, heading for the Far East. The trawler was the first in its class and type to pass along the Northern Sea Route.

"Kapitan Vdovichenko" successfully acted as a pioneer and managed to overcome about 14 thousand kilometers along the Northern Sea Route." said Vladimir Nadtocheev, head of shipbuilding department. "There are the fishing sea trials ahead of the vessel. I am sure that the trawler will cope with them with dignity, confirm the declared characteristics and take the right course to expand the capabilities of the fishing fleet of our country".

The fishing sea trials will last more than two months. Within these trials, the crew will test and put into operation the relevant fishing gears, fish processing facilities and ensure the output parameters of the vessel according to the specified production indicators. Throughout the entire period of the trials, the experts from JSC "Admiralty Shipyards" will be onboard the trawler. The tasks of the shipyard’s warranty team include monitoring of the correct operation of the components and mechanisms of the vessel, as well as eliminating possible malfunctions.

The contract for construction of 10 fishing trawlers for LLC “Russian Fishery Company” was signed in October of 2017 under the government-sponsored investment ratio program.

The large fishing freezer trawlers of project ST-192 are designed for fishing for pollock and herring with a pelagic trawl at the east coast of Russia, in the Bering Sea and in the Sea of Okhotsk. Main particulars of large fishing freezer trawlers of project ST-192: cargo holds capacity – 5,500 m3; length – 108 m; breadth – 21 m; sea endurance by fuel load – 45 days; crew – 139 persons, including fish processing factory personnel; full sea speed – 15 knots.
