JSC “ADMIRALTY SHIPYARDS” MARKED 350-th ANNIVERSARY OF PETER THE GREAT

In the context of 350-th anniversary celebration of Peter the Great, JSC “Admiralty Shipyards” participated along with the authorities of Admiralteyskiy District in a flower-laying ceremony at the monument Carpenter Tsar.

A delegation of the company employees and the representatives of Veterans Council and youth organization of the shipyard attended a ceremonial meeting at the monument to Peter I on the Admiralty Embankment.

“The first Russian emperor, a great reformer who “cut a window to Europe”, the founder of Saint Petersburg, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Peter I was the “first director” of Admiralty Shipyards and the founding father of Russia’s Navy,” said deputy director general of JSC ‘Admiralty Shipyards” Igor Savelyev. “It is emblematic that this is the place where on 05 November of 1704 Peter I founded the original Admiralty Wharf, which for 317 years now has been building successfully top-class ships and vessels for domestic fleet.”

On behalf of all employees of the city’s oldest shipyard Igor Savelyev presented a model of “a secret vessel by Efim Nikonov”, the first prototype submarine made with participation of Peter I, to Captain II Rank Roman Solovyev, the commanding officer of the submarine “Saint Petersburg“, built by JSC “Admiralty Shipyards”.
