ADMIRALTY SHIPYARDS JSC HAS COMMENCED THE SEA TRIALS OF MAGADAN SUBMARINE

Admiralty shipyards JSC has commenced the sea trials of Project 636 Magadan diesel-electric submarine The sea trials at the ranges of Baltic Fleet shall include the vessel noise level and magnetic field measurements.

The submarine shall undergo the speed, maneuverability deep sea trials. The shipyard specialists shall test the sonar system, communication, radio detecting and ranging systems, propulsion machinery and submarine life support systems. The trials are scheduled to be completed by the Russian Navy Day.

Magadan is the third submarine in the series for Pacific Fleet, it was launched on May 26th this year at 91%, readiness state. The vessel keel was laid on November 1st, 2019 and in November 2021 it will be delivered to RF Navy Fleet.

At the present time, docking of the fourth submarine (Ufa) under the Pacific series Project is completed, main cable is being laid. Putting the vessel afloat is scheduled before the end of current year.

Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy, the first ship in the series was delivered to RF Navy on November 25th, 2019. The second vessel in the series, Volkhov submarine, was enlisted with RF Pacific Fleet on October 24th, 2020.
