IT DEPARTMENT

CAD department was set up in the company in 1972. At that time the department dealt with information processing in a batch mode using electronic computers of Minsk and ES-Electronic Computer series. Accounting documents were processed via VDUs. In 1995 the changeover to client-server technology was implemented and “Admiral” information network was initiated.

Today “Admiral” system provides for storage and management of design and engineering information in the centralized database; reception and processing of information from transport files of CAD “TRIBON” and central design bureau “RUBIN”; documentary information processing for preparation, planning and management of production; processing and development of documents by functional services in the interactive mode by the unified technology of the user interface; planning by orders, management of procurement and accounting of inventory holdings in the company, etc.

Information space of the company includes more than 30 km of the main fibre-optic cable, about 10000 client-computers and work stations for work in the corporate network of the company (OS: Unix, (Linux, HP Unix), MS “Windows” XP / 2000 / NT 98 / 95). Some 200 computers are located in the workshops. Total number of computers has grown to 1400 units.
